I looked at this then decided its was just windows 7 with a rubbish start button :P

erm... don't forget that you cannot play dvds etc., that means paying out more and that could just be the start also of course, $ does not mean £ but with an open EU market, you must be able to buy an english version from any EU market place so pick you place and price.

Paul they include Media Center as a free addon/plugin I'm sure you can play videos/dvds in media center :)

I've already decided that Win8 is going to be skipped in my household. I think MS have made a very large business mistake forcing the Metro UI on people without a "proper" desktop alternative.

I though they actually backtracked on that and made it removable for desktops.

I've played with Windows 8 in a VM; doesn't seem different enough (apart from the Metro thing). It's not the step change that 7 was from Vista (or XP in my case I skipped Vista). Maybe the laptop/tablet thing Microsoft has launched will save it.
